I love looking at images of Queen Elizabeth, as well as other portraits from the Elizabethan area. It stems mostly from the wish I've always had that I was back in the same era. I would love to have been royalty in Elizabeth's time, wearing the fancy dresses and attending feasts and balls.
This particular portrait has my thinking of Queen Elizabeth's dress. Look at how she is holding her arms. I imagine that the dress is very heavy. Could the little white dots be pearls sewn into the fabric? And I'm sure that the fabric itself is heavy. And the neck of the dress looks itchy and severe. Maybe I need to rethink my wish of being back in Elizabeth's time and relish in the comfort of my jeans and T-shirts.
