The panda might be one of the silliest creatures designed by God. Although we call it a bear, it really isn't shaped like one at all. It's front legs are much longer than it's rear legs, which gives it its recognizable side-to-side gait, which really is more of a lazy wobble. I don't think I've ever seen a panda in a hurry. Why should it be? It doesn't have any natural enemies. All it eats is bamboo, which doesn't ever run away. At the Panda Reserve in Sichuan Province, China, you can see pandas doing what they do best, which really is nothing much at all. When they eat, they like to lie on their backs, grab fistfuls of bamboo in each hand and two-fist their meals into their mouths. I once met a grad student from Atlanta who was doing an internship at the Reserve. His job was to monitor the pandas in 15 minute intervals throughout the day. I kid you not, his entire summer's worth of entries consisted of: panda eating, panda pooping, panda sleeping, panda hiding. And one more thing: the picture of a panda we often have in our heads as a sweet, docile, silly creature only are true when they are pre-occupied. Invade it's space when it isn't eating and you'll likely get chomped.
OMG this Panda baby is so super cute! Look at his little cute face and nose, he's so furry you just want to hug him! That would be cool if they could domesticate them. Could you imagine having a loving Panda baby bear walking around the house!
