This is a neat image from the National Biological Information Infrastructure. Moose are amazing animals. The largest moose ever was apparently over 1,700 pounds. While visiting Isle Royale National Park, home to hundreds of moose, I heard that moose kill more people than bears in a typical year. Fortunately, moose are not incredibly intelligent. If a moose acts aggressively towards you, apparently you just have to stand behind a tree and the moose will forget that you are there.
One of the best ways to spot a moose is from the water - perhaps while canoeing the lakes or rivers of Minnesota or Maine.
